It's pretty clear that this song has no real intended meaning to it but an interpretation that I've heard is that it represents the importance of nature, hence the cow and the title. I interpret the noise section "Mind Your Throats, Please" as our detective becoming too involved with this case, with his collapse represented by Nick Mason saying "Here Is A Loud Announcement!" The collage of sounds in the second half of the noise section could be the detective trying to link all of the clues found so far, finding discovering who the murderer is, with "SILENCE IN THE STUDIO!" and the following section Remergence being the detective finally bringing the murderer to justice and the story ending. The choir section could be symbolizing a funeral procession, with the chants it morphs into possibly being a meeting at a church. The section leading up to the choir's introduction could be the search for clues. I interpret the beginning to be a murder of someone, with the horse and motorcycle signaling the murderer's escape from a detective. I am gonna try to find a way to make the Atom Heart Mother Suite tell a story. This is something I have been wanting to write for a while and now is the time because reasons.
